Ambassadors Committee

The Ambassadors are an active group of members who act as a welcoming committee for the Chamber of Commerce. They become a "buddy" for all new members. They communicate with and encourage the new member to attend Chamber activities and introduce them to other members at events. They also show a great representation at ribbon cuttings and grand openings. They meet monthly, the first Thursday, at different area restaurants.
Meeting dates:
Meet every first Thursday at 11:30 am each month at an active member restaurant.
Beautification Committee
Bill Navarra, Chair
The purpose is to review the community image and assist in improving the community while recognizing the work of others through an approved awards program. They are charged with the purpose of promoting community through pride among the residents by various programs developed to maintain and improve the quality of living in the City of Ormond Beach, and to instill a spirit of pride in the lifestyle of its commercial and residential areas and monitor the planning of governmental and community development in areas of ecological esthetic concern. The committee shall maintain a quarterly awards program selecting from each of the city's four zones and presenting the beautification awards for Residential, Commercial and Business Renovation categories.

Economic Prosperity Committee

The purpose is to monitor, review current development trends, attract new development and current business expansion in our community while developing activities consistent with the goals and objectives of the Ormond Beach Chamber of Commerce. The purpose is to utilize the opportunities and advantages of Ormond Beach to improve and modernize its tax base; to promote the area as suitable for quality family living while promoting economic/industrial development through a working relationship with the City of Ormond Beach and the Volusia County Economic Development Corporation. Promoting the improvement of all modes of transportation serving the Ormond Beach area is essential and expediting construction and improvements of streets, highways, and bridges which are considered vital to the development of our community.
Education Committee
Bissy Holden, Chair
The purpose is to develop activities and identify areas of need relevant to the education process in Ormond Beach and Volusia County. Its mission is to promote community interest in local and area schools, stimulate interest and support of vocational training and career opportunities available in the area, especially by contacting and working with professional groups to offer expertise in the area of jurisdiction to other similar businesses and encourage efforts and programs that support "excellence and education."

GO! Generation Ormond!

This is a new committee formed with a mission of promoting a positive energetic networking atmosphere for the enrichment of the professional community. Generation Ormond is committed to educating the membership on issues affecting businesses in Ormond Beach, enriching knowledge of what resources are available in the community. This group is open to all Chamber members who are interested in a professional and social environment in which to promote their businesses. Educate. Motivate. GO Succeed.

Golf Committee

Rick Durgin, Co-Chair
This is the main fundraising committee for the OBCC. Committee members secure sponsorships, golfers, door prizes and assistance the day of the tournament.
43rd Annual Mayors Golf Tournament is scheduled for Friday, May 11th, Halifax Plantation, Registration 12pm / Shotgun start at 1pm.

Leadership Committee

The purpose is to conduct the annual Ormond Leadership Seminar program, and to coordinate activities of the Ormond Leadership Alumni. Its mission is to maintain contact and work with Leadership Alumni to create networking opportunities and programs that promote community leadership.

Membership Committee
Angela Payne-Jelenic, Chair
This committee meets on an as needed basis to review the activities and help the Chamber with ideas to enhance the general membership functions by monitoring changing needs and helping to meet those needs.
Signature Event Committee
Kent Jones, Chair
The purpose of this committee is to create a community signature event designed to promote a sense of place, as well as provide net revenue to the Ormond Beach Chamber of Commerce. The inaugural event took place February 5-8, 2009.
